This is a great hire by the Mets and exactly what they needed. Someone who has won, and won in New York. I’m suddenly if not all the beat writers don’t find him warm and cuddly. They’ll wait to bash him until they take jobs covering the Yankees…until then they will love him.
The part of the deal I don’t understand is this rebrand to “Philadelphia Phillies” – are the Wilpons trying to make this more of a regional team? I don’t get it. Hey at least we get t-shirts.
