I wrote this on October 8th as part of “Carlos Beltran. Will This Guy Manage The Mets? No.”
Wags may be stupid, but he isn’t THIS kind of stupid. Now if the Mariners call and offer us their manager for some prospects, he might be THAT kind of stupid – but even Wags has to realize that firing Mickey to hire a guy with LESS experience is idiotic.
And yeah that’s how I feel this morning. What are we even doing?
SLACKISH REACTION: After a month of nothing to write about, and let’s face it, I basically took October off from blogging – you’d think I’d be pumped this morning? I’m not. I’m not mad. I’m not looking to throw venom. I’m just kinda…what I call Seinfeld ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Shrug.
I have soccer this morning. I didn’t shower yet because I am a dirtbag and tired so I threw on a Mets cap. I kinda don’t wanna wear a Mets cap because people are going to ask me about this and I don’t care to talk about it. That’s it – I don’t care.
What’s worse, and if you read Jeff’s statement…here let me get it for you….
We are thrilled, as we know our passionate fans will be, to have him back in the family,” said Mets COO Jeff Wilpon.
Are we Jeff? Are we thrilled? I know that we’ve put Betran on the All Time Team and whatnot but I don’t think I have ever met someone whose favorite Mets player was Carlos Beltran.
But who cares about that – the question is Can He Manage? And the answer on November 2nd is We Don’t Know.
And that’s crazy. Handing this team to Inexperienced Carlos Beltran (ICB) or Inexperienced Anyone makes no sense. Are we doing this because you think the fans are gonna buzz? I’m still fearful I’m gonna find out Beltran works with CAA.
If you weren’t going to go experienced here, you should have stuck with Mickey Hodges.
Next, the annual press conference where we hear about a new culture, and Jeff Wilpon tells us how the organization is committed to winning. They won when I was 17. I am now 50. Why is my blog so negative? Do the math. And Wags and Jeff just decided to waste a few more years.
