At the end of the day, we all know pitching…you don’t know when a guy is going to be healthy…let’s just all agree that health is always a risk when you are buying pitching…there’s no pitching you’re buying out there that’s not a risk…young or old.”
”I’m of the belief that, yes, we have six starters, seven starters, but that’s not enough to have enough – you can never have too much starting pitching.”
That’s Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen, talking about the strength of the Mets’ rotation now that he has signed my new Favorite Met Rick Porcello, and Coincidentally CAA’s Waka Waka.
Wags reiterated how much the Mets want to win.
To me, when you can dominate the starting pitching, psychologically, if you’re going in there with a guy you think can win that game, believe me, that’s wins that game. Starting pitching keeps you away from slumps, starting pitching keeps you away from a tough loss, and picking yourself up…to me, it starts with the starting pitching, and the you build from there.”
Oh wait, Wags didn’t say any of that.
That’s all from Omar Minaya’s press conference, with MetsBlog’s byline of December 16, 2004.

All of this has happened before and will happened again.
SLACKISH REACTION: I was at the airport at 2am. I need coffee. There is no Mets news other than signing Porcello, which I guess is Mets news but we covered it yesterday.
