NEW YORK METS INVITING LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES TO BE PART OF CITI FIELD’S 2024 ALL-STAR CULINARY LINEUP

The Mets are opening applications for Queens based small businesses to be featured at the Taste of Queens food portable during the 2024 season.

FLUSHING, N.Y., October 17, 2023 – The New York Mets are opening applications for Queens based small businesses to be part of Citi Field’s all-star culinary lineup in 2024. The Mets will select multiple Queens based small businesses to be featured at their community focused portable ‘Taste of Queens’ on a rotating basis throughout the season.

The goal of the Taste of Queens portable is to give back to the community by providing exposure for Queens based small businesses and helping them share their story with the fans at Citi Field. As part of the application process, the Mets are asking for businesses to share their story on why they should be added to Citi Field’s culinary lineup for a limited time.

“We are thrilled to be able to give back to the Queens community by helping small local businesses gain exposure to our fanbase with the Taste of Queens portable at Citi Field.” said Mets Vice President of Hospitality Taryn Donovan. “We were able to highlight some incredible local small businesses through Taste of Queens last season and are looking forward to building on that success for the 2024 season.”

The Mets, who were named the 2023 USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice travel award contest for Best Stadium Food, debuted the Taste of Queens portable last season in Taste of the City on the field level concourse. Last season, the Mets featured four Queens based businesses including Tang, Fresco’s Cantina, The Nourish Spot and The Arepa Lady.

Taylor Swift. Will She Manage the 2024 Mets? No.

Taylor Swift.  Is there anything she can’t do?

Baseball is dying.  If they are paying attention they see the attention that Taylor brought to the NFL.

Imagine if Taylor Swift managed the Mets.  There really isn’t anything to do from a baseball standpoint – all she has to do is do whatever David Stearns says, that’s what this job is – so whether she knows anything about baseball or not doesn’t matter.  Just get her a good bench coach.

As the first woman to manage a MLB team, she will be making history and breaking down barriers.  That’s the sort of thing that appeals to Taylor.

Uncle Steve likes to be popular, so if he writes a big check to Taylor he will be popular with the Swifities.

Gelbs will become a media superstar as the guy who gets to ask, “Taylor, how did it feel when…” after every game.

Citi Field will be packed….and every road game will be an event.

The Mets will become a major worldwide brand.

I started this post out as a joke, but the more I write about it – this makes sense for everyone.  Get on the phone Steve.

Will Taylor Swift manage the 2024 Mets? Probably not, but only because the Mets tend to be stupid.  This is actually a no brainer.

Mike Piazza: will this guy manage the 2024 Mets? No

Maybe we need someone to Make The Mets Great Again.  Someone who can get a bunch of people to rally.   If the team in Washington starts to cause trouble, Mike can be there to stop them, and change the course of history.  Or Atlanta, Miami and Philadelphia of course, them too.

Perhaps, it is time for the Mets to hire Mike Piazza as the next Mets manager!

Mike is a beloved Dodger Met and has vast managerial experience in the World Baseball Classic.  Catchers often make for great managers.   Uncle Steve would look like a hero standing next to a hero like Mike Piazza.  Mets board member Chris Christie would probably approve,  as would some other members of the rich guy club.

That said, the Mets don’t play their home games in Italy, so it is unlikely that Mike would want to manage the Mets.  Unfortunately, Mike will not Make The Mets Great Again in 2024.
