Welcome to STITCHES our new sponsor

In case you haven’t noticed, I am a jersey snob.  I’m thrilled to welcome our new sponsor Stitches the official stitchers of the Knicks, Islanders and you guessed it…the Mets.

So if you want your jersey done right…say you really want a kickin’ Stearns 12 with the numbers on front and all pretty…head to the guys the pros head to.  Learn more about Stitches here, or pop in over to their location in Whitestone and be sure to mention it if you heard about them from the Mets Police.

Media Goon breaking in here. I went to Stitches after I bought my 2012 Mets jerseys at the Blue Friday Sale. You are getting the pro style stitching here, not iron on. Shannon and I both have had readers and our friends ask us where they could get their jerseys customized. No, I am not being a shill either. I really wanted to get Stitches name out there so people could get the same quality work I have had done.

If you would like to advertise on Mets Police (or in the newsletter) check out the media kit.  I’ll update those numbers again but so far February is running well ahead of January in terms of visitors.

Mike Vaccaro: Terry Collins, Mets manager, has high hopes even if no one else does – NYPOST.com

Dumb when I say it, smart when Vaccaro says it.  I’m a big fan of Mike’s work, I’m glad he wrote today’s must read.

Collins guided them to wins in 50 of their next 88 games, a mark which isn’t just representative, it translates to 92-70 over a full season.

Most of those games played without his corner infielders, with his left fielder mired in a slump, with a starting rotation that was hit-or-miss just about every day, a closer with one foot out the door and a center fielder with two.

Beautiful

Leave behind your sorrows
Let this day be the last
Tomorrow there’ll be sunshine
And all this darkness past

Big wheels roll through fields
Where sunlight streams
Meet me in a land of hope and dreams

This train
Carries saints and sinners
This train
Carries losers and winners
This Train
Carries whores and gamblers
This Train
Carries lost souls
This Train
Dreams will not be thwarted
This Train
Faith will be rewarded
