Brain cancer didn’t keep Gary Carter from Opening Day.
Carter, the head baseball coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University in Florida, made it to his team’s first game last night, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Financial Relief for Mets May Come From TV Partners – NYTimes.com
Time Warner Cable and Comcast are nearing a plan to finance SNY’s purchase of four shares in the Mets, worth $80 million, said one person e with knowledge of the plan who was not authorized to speak publicly. If the deal is completed, the Mets would appear to have buyers for the 10 shares they are selling. That means they will have much-needed cash to pay off their substantial debts. But it would be a slightly quirky way of doing it. The deal would mean 16 percent of the Mets would be owned by SNY. The Mets’ parent company, Sterling Equities, owns 70 percent of the network.

Should I do a Mets ‘show’ with The7Line guy?
I enjoy Darren from the 7 line even though we often disagree. Yesterday on twitter he mentioned that grown men should not have custom jerseys with their name on it. I have like 5. Maybe more.
So I joked we should do a show together (on SNY) and just disagree on stuff.
I don’t think we’ve met or if we did it was in passing, we definitely haven’t hung out, but sometimes I feel like we’re battling for the souls of the fanbase like the characters on Lost. ( I guess I am Jacob since I can’t be the Man In Black).
I loved what Darren did with “Don’t Trade Reyes” and didn’t love a sign he did later in the year.
Regardless, he is clearly passionate about the Mets.
So it sort of stuck on twitter and people seem into it. There are all sorts of variant ideas…is it a Google+ hangout (probably easiest)? How do we get The Cerrone Effect* involved? Is it a bunch of bloggers? Do we add a band and dancers like Sabado Gigante has? I dunno. If you have thoughts I’d love to hear them.
…
The Cerrone Effect is when you have a blog and Mets Blog links to it. It does this to your numbers.
Please be sure to follow the Mets Police Google+ Page. Google has changed the way they do things so being a G+ follower really helps the cause as do +1’s
There is also a Mets Police Facebook Fan Page

Mets to wear green jerseys on St. Patrick’s Day. They look nice and we have pictures!
These are sweet. Dave Howard must be laughing at me. He has beat me at my game. The Mets issue nice jerseys and I buy every single one. Well done Dave, well done. Via @mets
