Y’all have been great sending things in. I actually have a backlog of amazin’ stuff that I want to post all at once. I could seriously walk away for three weeks and you’d have three or four new posts a day. Keep em coming to [email protected]
So now the ask for help.
I want this stuff to be seen. I can only goose Google so much. If you dig the site and have a friend who might like it, tell them about it. Or click share on Facebook. Or email someone. The growth over the last three years has been tremendous..but I’m reaching the point where I’d like to see another growth spurt.
It’s not a threat. I’m not going to stop doing this. I know this is a niche blog and not everyone loves Lee Mazzilli like I do – by the way I’m on a “suck up to these 25-30 year olds” kick, so I’m looking for stuff from say 1996-2006 if you have any.
Despite the quirkiness, people seem to dig it and I bet there are more people out there beyond the existing readers.
After all, don’t you want them to know what THIS is…I’ll tell you tomorrow in the leadoff post. Spread the word.
Thanks!
…
Media Goon is on assignment again and will have more coolness for you as the day rolls on. It’s sort of Opposite Day, he is handling the posts and I’m just on watch in case Tom Seaver Unretires.
It was pointed out in the comments that once again the Mets wore pinstripes at an off-season gathering. If I am right that means they’ve worn the pinnies every time. As a comparison, Jason Bay was intro’d in a pinless in 2010.
While we wait for Media Goon to get back from Citi with some goodies (should be up soon)…guess which team ESPN named the best logo in baseball? (thanks to Alex for the tip.)
Oh wait, did my headline give it away?
..
By the way if you like the Jets, Sports Police has all sorts of things to help you kill time at work.
Now that I bothered to make poor man’s Opening Credits for my proposed series How I Met The Mets people are starting to pay attention.
This if for Jeff from Flushing and the cats over at SNY.
We don’t like Beer Money. Nobody cares. Yes it is probably cheap to produce but nobody cares. We like the live shows and we like Mets Yearbook.
What the channel lacks is an -orgaphy show. Rather than be all uppity like other regional cable networks, stay in the style of the Mets and have fun with it.
In How I Met The Mets a middle aged Mets fan is boring his kids to tears with stories of years gone by, just like a certain popular CBS sitcom.
Show some stills. Show some video if you have it. Interview Ronnie and Keith about the game.
Maybe the episodes are half an hour, maybe they are 15 minutes.
Maybe you may just 10 episodes to start.
Oh, and have FUN and BE HONEST about it. Kids, it was the summer of 2007 and we were on our way to the playoffs…(clips)….yeah we were crushed, but on Opening Day 2008 I was there at Shea and we knew this would be our year, but that’s a story for next time.
Or have some fun with off-field stuff from 2011. “Kids, did I ever tell you about the time Mr. Met showed up at Uncle Tony’s birthday party?” We never see this stuff. I bet if you had Mr. Met show up at Tony’s birthday for free he’d let you film it.
Best of all, like everything else I write about: I don’t want anything from you. I just want to watch it.
Discuss at this week’s staff meeting.
Oh, while I have you – I don’t know if you saw this or if you have the 88 playoffs but I do. You are welcome to borrow them to make HIMTH episodes.
