>Guessing the NL All Stars

>The Mets Police comment that there may not be any Mets on the All-Star team got me to thining. Yes, the votes are still coming in so this could change, but thought I’d take a shot at what players will make up the NL All-Star team next month (assuming the current vote leaders remain so).

All teams are represented. There are 11 pitchers (7 starters and 4 relievers)

The Cubs have 5 players, while six teams are represented by only one.

>Mets on KNBR

>Always fun to listen to the out of town call. I got to enjoy Jon Miller calling the Giants game – how refreshing!

Don't judge Miller by either ESPNs production values or by Joe Morgan dumbing him down.

Miller more or less works alone. He has a partner but I only heard the guy speak once in 4 innings. A (practically) one man booth with little production values, and no annoying F-A-N chant every half inning was a wonderful experience. Just the facts with no cheeze nor pompous high-far home run calls was a treat for this New Yorker.

Mets win, Maine wins, Willie stays – amazin' what the easy part of the schedule can do for a team.

Let's go mets! Mets-po-lice da da da!

>Might Wagner Be The Only All-Star?

>Whoa Mets Police…that’s crazy talk. We have Reyes and Wright and Santana….there will be like 5 Mets on the All Star Team…and the game is in New York…..

Well you might be right.

It’s hard to project what happens but right now nobody is getting voted in to start. Reyes ain’t making it (he’s third), and doesn’t deserve it. Wright is second behind Chipper…wouldn’t surprise me at all if The Captain makes the team.

Santana? 7 wins looks good right? Brandon Webb is in, and Zambrano with 8 wins is in. There are 7 guys other than Santana with seven wins.

Somebody from Colorado has to go – and don’t forget who is managing – so Aaron Cook is in. That’s three starting pitchers.

Who are you taking from the Giants? How about Tim Lincecum with seven wins? So that’s four starters.

Edinson Volquez of the Reds has 7 wins with a 1.46 ERA….hard to ignore. That’s five.

How many starters will they take?

If I’m a betting man – look for David Wright and Billy Wagner and that’s it. Stay up late if you want to see any Mets in the All-Star Game this year.

>Ugly uni combo today

>I don't recall them wearing pinstripes with the hybrid black hats (with the ny you can't see on tv) with black stirrups. This is ugly. So was Jose's fumble at 2nd base.
