CAN I WATCH TODAY’S GAME?   Yes!

Back in the day I used to watch tons of Spring Training.  It was a time of 7 channels and Atari and no responsibilities.  Now we live in a world of jobs and the internet and PS4 and lots of responsibilities and all that has made me realize that Spring Training is fun for exactly one inning.   So I will endeavor to watch the first inning today and pretend baseball is back, before everyone comes out of the game and it’s Guys Dressed As Mets vs Guys Dressed As Braves.

By the way, SNY didn’t send me the Spring TV schedule this season.  I wonder if they are mad at me zinging MetsBlog’s “COULD” articles all winter.  At least the COULD stopped.  And yet I cannot be stopped and still somehow got the information mwahahahaha.

The newspaper wants us to know about prospect Gerson Bautista.  Since this is a name I haven’t heard and I am not seeing 5000 Bautista articles they get rewarded with a link. Thank you for actually trying, newspaper.

The boycotters/alumni advocate group that had big mouths all winter won’t like this Sporting News article asking if The Mets Won The Off-Season.

NOT LINKING:   Yesterday I told you about the Mickey Mafia.  Yesterday I saw some nonsense “ALL EYES ON MICKEY AS METS SPRING TRAINING GAMES START” or something.  All eyes?  Are the fans really like, “Man, I can’t wait to see how Mickey manages this one inning where some of his starters play against whoever the Braves made take a bus trip.”  What are you even talking about bro?

LINEUP TWEEETING MUST DIE:   Stop tweeting the lineup.  The only account that should tweet the lineup is @mets. I saw 50,000 lineup tweets yesterday for a game that would be played a day later.   Stop.   If you’re on the beat, STOP, go break a story the way Rubin used to.  If you’re a fan, double stop.  And if you’re in #metsfansunited well you shouldn’t even be thinking about this stuff. Enjoy the boycott.

Mulder you can’t go looking for David Wright conspiracies every day. What would the Mets even be trying to hide? Are you saying David Wright is a ghost?

Do I have to remind you about the Christmas of 98? The truth is out there Scully. I don’t know what it is yet but the truth is out there. I don’t know why there are daily clues in the Mets’ social media accounts but I aim to find out.

SLACKISH REACTION:   Quiet morning despite the newspapers trying to fill space.  Lots of discussion around this Harvey thing I linked to.

Every day there is more and more Mickey Callaway Propoganda.   The media must really like this guy.  Today’s propaganda is about how he’s modernizing the Mets.  (And let’s not forget that Sharkgate got a free pass).   At this point I neither like nor dislike the guy as I haven’t met him or seen him manage, but I do notice the daily Mickey Is God articles.  I hope he is awesome, groovy, and wins 10 rings.  But take the foot off the gas PR machine.  And spellcheck wants him to be Mickey Hallway.

CAN I WATCH TODAY’S GAME?  Usually the day before games begin they do an intrasquad game.  The last few years they have streamed those via high cam on Mets.com or Facebook/Twitter.   I haven’t seen anything about it but will keep an eye out.  That cam gets really boring fast though.

Wheeler and 8 other people are scheduled to pitch Friday (just like the regular season!).  Lugo and others on Saturday.  And the Gazelle Man goes Sunday.

The Mets announced a “BP Pullover” giveaway for June 2.  15,000 only.  Not sure what happened to the 25,000 they promised at QBC.  I may have to make a call to Flushing but I am so lazy.

NOT LINKING:  The newspaper says the division looks weak.   The other newspaper has more Mickey Propaganda.  He is modernizing the Mets!  Official MLB tells us the Mets have lots of relievers!  The other other newspaper tells us Rosario is excited!
