Generally, it isn’t great for teams to publicly declare which of their players are useful, if they intend to either trade or hold on to them.
Alderson did say this amorphous thing: “Finances are always an issue, with every team. But, certainly, we have a lot more flexibility than we’ve had in the past.
“Which past? Last January, he explained that “the reason we havent spent the money is not because of Fred Wilpon. Its because of me.”

Movember is Here
For the last two years I and several other Mets fans and bloggers have participated in MOVEMBER – growing mustaches to raise money and awareness of men’s health issues. In the last two years we have raised over $3,000 through this effort.
This year I will be taking a year off from participating, but I’d like to urge all who donated in the past to continue to support this worthy cause by going to Movember and making a direct donation.
