Mets Police 90’s Week: Mike Piazza Mets Debut signed ticket stub

A submission from Stan..

Mike Piazza NY Mets Debut 5/23/98 Signed/Authenticated Ticket Stub
This item has a lot of sentimental value for me. It was my 1st ever baseball game & I was 14 years old at the time. I really started to follow the Mets in the mid 90’s but never had the chance to attend a Mets game. But when the Mets traded for Mike Piazza, me & my friends just had to go see him make his debut for the Mets. I still remember like it was yesterday at Shea Stadium especially when seeing the baseball field in-person for the first time ever. They were facing the Brewers & the pitchers were Jeff Juden for the Brewers & Al Leiter for the Mets. Mike had 1 hit which was a double & he moved the 3rd base on the throw. I eventually got the ticket stub signed by Mike Piazza a couple of years after at Shea Stadium & got it authenticated by JSA This is definitely my favorite Mets item that I own.

Mets Police 90’s Week: The Ice Cream caps

After yesterday’s swoosh jerseys nothing could get worse for the Mets uniform wise could it?  This mess became known as the “ice cream cap” and if my memory serves was worn on Sunday.  Also notice the Mets have dropped pinstripes for some reason.  This is terrible, surely Mets Uniforms in the 1990’s won’t get any worse than this….

Mets Police 90’s Week: Todd Hundley Ball

Poor Todd Hundley.  Mets fans LOVED him.  He hit more home runs than that guy in Los Angeles.  Then the guy from Los Angeles went to Miami for a week and then moved to Queens and kicked Todd for a few UGLY innings in left field.  Poor Todd.  Thanks once again to Sparks for the post.
