Citi Field’s $20 Souvenir Popcorn Bucket must be tasty

Stu posted this on the Mets Police Facebook Page and I thought I would share that you can get $20 worth of popcorn at Citi Field.   In a Souvenir Bucket.  Made of gold.

Let’s ignore the prices for a moment.  If a TUB has 460 calories and a BUCKET has 1450, how big is this bucket?

I’ll have to ask the T-Shirt guy since he gets invited to all the insidery Citi Field events like yesterday’s secret New Balance Event

Maybe he and Nas got some of that Wilpon Popcorn last week at the food event.  I wasn’t invited and if i had been invited I would have sold out for (half) a steak sandwich and not had the popcorn anyway.

A reminder that Wednesday’s Mets game has NO TV and is Facebook only for video

Oh yeah,  forgot about this horrible annoyance.

Wednesday’s game is on Facebook Only (and the radio) which is realy annoying if you’re the sort of fellow who works, wants to watch the game AND do hilarious in game tweets.  Grrrrr.

You can watch it here.

Scott Braun, John Kruk and Cliff Loyd (aka SJC) have the coverage with Alexa of Bralexa fame in the Gelbs role – and don’t forget Alexa left without sayin goodbye.  At least Brandon is still with us.

Anyway, lets start being outraged today before the WFAN guys notice this tomorrow and ramp you up #TheNarrative.

Mets Police Morning Laziness: Mystic Matt tries again, ConcessionGate fallout

As I have been breathing fire since Opening Day, I did want to let you guys know I did hear from Chris Brown of the Mets.  Chris is who I had specifically tagged on the post the other day. Since none of us have a time machine, I appreciate the discussion we have had and thank Chris for contacting me.  All good and let’s move on from that particular part of the ongoing Guest Experience discussion.

That being said, I am very interested in the fan experience at Citi Field which really goes back to the heyday of the blog back in the early days of Citi Field.  I see you guys are interested as well as the site traffic has been the highest it has been in years and yesterday’s site traffic was “off to the races” as I used to say before Facebook killed blogs.  Nice to see everyone back and thanks for reading and sharing.

Over at Van Hagar, @mediagoon has some Deep Throat info about what went down with concessions this weekend.  Good read.

Only one playin today is this dude!

Wow busy day yesterday here at MPHQ.

Nice job by the Mets declaring the snow-out before 1pm. I hate when fans have to stress all day. This way we all know and can move along with our lives. Details on the make good etc here.

Matt from Mystic, just a quiet kid from the suburbs who wants to be a #4 starter and then go home and watch TV will pitch tonight.   The attention seeking superhero goes tomorrow.

Operation Take Back New York was a total failure according to this survey.

Keith Hernandez is selling t-shirts!

SNY made a Los Mets documentary.  It’s not what you think.

NOT LINKING: The Newspaper decided that the Nationals have a “deeper” rotation than the Mets based upon the weekend.  The is just silly.

SNY to air Los Mets documentary!

SNY Goes Behind the Scenes with Amed Rosario and Jeurys Familia on Their Journeys from the D.R. to the Major Leagues

NEW YORK, NY, April 2, 2018 – SNY, the official television home of the New York Mets, New York Jets and all things New York sports, will premiere an exclusive documentary entitled “Los Mets: Baseball in the Dominican Republic” on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by SNY’s Mets on field reporter Steve Gelbs, “Los Mets: Baseball in the Dominican Republic,” is a 30-minute special highlighting the Mets history and presence in the Dominican Republic and the profound impact the sport of baseball has had on the country.

The feature includes Mets stars Amed Rosario and Jeurys Familia, who welcomed SNY’s camera crews into their homes to share their incredible family stories and how baseball changed their families’ lives. Familia also returns to his humble childhood home, sharing stories of his parent’s struggles and sacrifices to provide for Familia and his siblings.

Gelbs also brings viewers inside the Mets state of the art baseball academy in Boca Chica speaking with the different coaches and staff about the country’s passion for the sport of baseball and the opportunity the academy provides the players through sport and education.

Adding to the broadcast is Mets General Manager Sandy Alderson, discussing why he believes the D.R. is at the forefront of producing some of the best baseball players in the world.

The original documentary will re-air on SNY several times following its initial airing (check local listings).
