Mets Content Team makes new Content so there is Content to justify Content Team

Gotta make content.  It’s always a tell when organizations use the word Content.    Content usually means content for content’s sake.  Let’s see what they have made..

NEW YORK METS ANNOUNCE TWO NEW CONTENT SERIES: “INSIDE THE DIAMOND” AND “ON THE ROAD”

These all-new series will provide fans with a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the Mets organization and their favorite players.

(Shannon here.  I don’t have any favorite player on the Mets right now.  I have two I actively DISlike though)

FLUSHING, N.Y., June 10, 2025 – The New York Mets announced today the next phase of mid- and long-form content development with the introduction of two new, multi-episode series, “Inside the Diamond” and “On the Road”. Both series will offer fans access behind the clubhouse doors, with “Inside the Diamond” providing an exclusive look at the lives of Mets players and “On the Road” capturing the unseen work that goes into traveling as a Major League Baseball team. All episodes, shot and produced by the New York Mets Content team, as well as bonus content, will premier exclusively on the Mets’ YouTube channel.

(Shannon again – look at this next para.  This guy is using the word “journey.”  No real humans speak like this.  It’s possible he’s an android posing as a human.  I am sure Mets fans are excited to go on this “journey” with you Bobby)

“We’re excited to continue our journey in producing storytelling content with these two all-new series,” said Mets Vice President of Creative Content Bobby Clemens. “Coming off the success of “The Pursuit,” we saw this as a great opportunity to continue to expand beyond what fans see on the field with behind-the-scenes access that showcases the personalities of their favorite players.”

The “Inside the Diamond” series dives into the daily lives of Mets players with unprecedented access. Starting during Spring Training as players prepare for the start of the 2025 season and continuing throughout the year, the series will highlight players’ on-field preparation and their off-field personalities. The first episode of “Inside the Diamond”, featuring Francisco Lindor, aired on Thursday, June 5 and new episodes will drop every Thursday throughout the season.

(Shannon again.  Wait, the announcement went out after the launch????)

The “On the Road” series gives fans an all-access look at what it truly takes to travel as a team. From players grinding through the demanding schedule with early morning arrivals to the ballpark and late-night flights, to staff coordinating equipment, meals, hotel and travel, the series captures the unseen hustle across the organization behind every road trip. The first episode of “On the Road” will air today, June 10.

(Oh man it sounds so hard flying charter.  I may have to watch this.   Also it won’t “air” if it’s on Youtube.  It will stream.)

“Inside the Diamond” and “On the Road” are the Mets next ventures in storytelling content this season. Earlier this season, the Mets debuted the team’s first long-form documentary called “The Pursuit”…..

…The two-part series took fans behind the scenes of the 2024 Mets magical season and shared the details of the team’s offseason pursuit and ultimate signing of Juan Soto.

Fans can tune in to the Mets YouTube channel for all content produced by the New York Mets Content team.

(And what sounds more personal that the New York Mets Content Team?  This business gets less and less personal every day.)

Mets 4th of July Cap 2025

I’ve seen worse…  This is the low-crown version as neither you nor I are Vanilla Ice.

Meanwhile….

Also its good to see either

a) Mets fans are rejecting Lindor

b) Mets fans are rejecting black jerseys

c) MLB is just cool and selling high-demand jerseys at a discount because they are cool like that.   Sometimes people are just cool.  But not Lindor.  He thumbs downed the fans and can go rot, no matter how much he works the sheep media.

Ooopsie….Mets fans told wrong day to vote

Gothamist reports…

Attention Mets fans: Primary Day in New York City is June 24 — not June 23.

You could be forgiven for getting your dates confused, since the wrong day was displayed on an electronic billboard at Citi Field during at least four baseball games.

The city’s Campaign Finance Board was responsible for the error.

Well at least they got the day wrong EARLY rather than late so you can still have a chance to vote.  What a weird error.

Mets, super serious about Pride, to celebrate Pride Night!

I’m impressed that the Mets are wearing on-field Pride jerseys which giving away tank tops.

Mets lose another exec – what’s the deal?

M. Donald Scott Havens is leaving the Mets.  Is it me or do Steve and Alex go through a lot of execs?  Isn’t everything groovy in Queens?  Why wouldn’t someone want to be the President of Business Operations?

Here’s the line the mainstream media is glossing over.

we ultimately had differing perspectives on long-term strategy

Who knows, maybe M. Donald Scott was the one thinking about all the nonsense and Steve is like “what if we just played organ music and Saturday day games?”  I believe in Steve, I bet Steve is like “what if Mr. Met didn’t do pushups with a dance team.”  Maybe Steve is the one asking “why did we open a store in Union Square?”

By the way Steve, this is Year 5 of your Year 5 plan and your team is in second place.  There are no more excuses.  Your timetable.  Your plan.  Your hires.  This is not on the Wilpons.  No excuses.  A tickertape parade or failure.  No excuses.  No “anything can happen in the playoffs.”  No excuses.  World Series Champions is the only option.

“If I don’t win a World Series in the next 3-5 years… I would consider that slightly disappointing,”  – Steve Cohen November 2020.

I’m not devastated, I’m disappointed,” – Tom Glavine, 2007

Anyway I am confident Steve’s next hire will work out.

Year 5 Steve.

already?

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 27, 2025 – The New York Mets today announced that Scott Havens, who served as President of Business Operations since 2023, will be stepping down.

“Scott has played a key role in driving progress across the Mets organization,” said Mets Owner, Chairman and CEO Steve Cohen. “I’m grateful for the impact he’s had during his time with us. While we ultimately had differing perspectives on long-term strategy, I wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

“It has been an incredible honor to serve this franchise. I am proud of what we have accomplished together,” said Scott Havens. “I remain a passionate, long-term supporter of the Mets and will be cheering on the team’s continued success.”

The Mets plan to announce the new President of Business Operations shortly and will work with Scott to ensure a smooth and collaborative transition.
