The Mets Police

This morning I received an email and several texts from Media Goon who went for a drive around Citi Field.  He included pictures and some comments, and wanted me to comment as well.  So I shall.

So far I have written every sentence of this post including this one without looking as his emails or texts, so we will be virtually experiencing this together.

Goon: 126th making turn east on roosevelt. can’t see the billboard until after you turn….

 

SS: Even though I grew up a half block from Roosevelt, this stretch between Shea/Citi and Main Street is the stretch I almost never drove down.  Neither here nor there, just saying I usually took Northern to Flushing.

Goon:  Girlfriend took a photo burst while we were driving…. this is the view of the billboard coming down Roosevelt Ave going west.

SS:  boy did she take a long burst.  I am not posting the many many pictures I was sent, but I will just pick and choose a few. And if I picked 9 you can imagine how many she took.

SS:  Media Goon then looped around to look at The Mystery Structure.

SS: About the Mystery Structure.  I have a guy inside the Mets who I am friendly with and he always reminds me that if I have a question I should just ask him.  However, I at heart I am 12 and I much more enjoy guessing what The Mystery Structure is.  It’s no fun to just find out.

SS:  So there you have it.  I think the Mystery Structure will be some sort of ads/sign/digital something.  Maybe The Wilpons have decided to start their own billboard which would be EPIC.

 

Not sure Friday afternoon not near Opening Day was the best timing, but here’s your blog coverage!

It’s a nice random morning here at MPHQ which is the way we like the blog.  First we had the Mystery Structure at Citi Field and now this!

 

It appears that season ticket holders had a chance to enter this early, but looks like SNY will be soliciting more people soon if they are not already.  From the email I saw..

Would you like to go head-to-head in Mets trivia against Gary Cohen and Howie Rose for a chance to win $5,000? SNY is looking for two-person teams who can demonstrate extensive knowledge of Mets history to compete in a game show style television program.

All you have to do is find your teammate, practice your Mets trivia and attend the open audition at Citi Field on May 16th at 9am. Auditions will be on a first come/first served basis. SNY does not guarantee that all teams who show up will receive an audition.

Will update you as we know more.  I’m not messing with Howie.  If it were Keith and my man Josh I’d give it a shot but Howie will crush me.

Glad to see SNY is continuing to knock out originals!  Keep it up fellas!
