What Mets fans talk about when not talking about the actual games.

This caught my eye this morning (a zoom in of a @jareddiamond tweet) – look at the way New York Mets is written. It’s in “nice try” font. Or maybe it’s “what if in 1975 someone had changed the Mets font” font)
Is the answer as simple as that this is a road game and the Astros made the lineup card and they don’t care? But why would the Astros write New York Mets up top a lineup card? Nope it’s a home game.
We’ve touched upon this in the past with Alumni jerseys, but David found a new or updated site.
I keep finding that they are “out of stock”, maybe there was a run on Ron Herbel jerseys, but it’s fun to look at the names of people you could in theory get. Unfortunately, 1983 Opening Day right-fielder Mike Howard is not listed.
Anyway, if you ever want to impress the bleep out of Greg Prince at his next St. Patrick’s Day party…
Thanks to David for the heads up!
Look what @lagranderusty dug up this morning!

This just in to the Matt Harvey News Desk, MHN has learned that Matt Harvey was photographed holding half a green bagel. The picture was apparently taken yesterday as part of a St. Patrick’s Day themed breakfast. No word was given as to why it took nearly 36 hours for this picture to surface. Keep it here on MHN for more as this story develops.
Whoa, easy on the carbs, Matt Harvey pic.twitter.com/gNs8ZEKlvU
