Mets Should Say NO To Pavano | The John Delcos New York Mets Report

I found this a good read – not just because of the points John makes about Pavano, but this little tidbit here.  John was a beat reporter for 10 years.  Interesting.

I also keep hearing the Mets have money to spend, but there aren’t many signs showing that inclination. If it is the same media sources doing the shouting, one has to wonder the motivation. Is it real news or somebody doing a PR favor for ownership? It wouldn’t be a stretch for it to be the latter.

Not @mediagoon’s Mets jerseys #88: 2008 Wright

Since both @mediagoon and Shannon finally tapped out of jerseys (at least for a few weeks), I’m taking the ball and running with it for a while.

The first jersey of a current player I ever purchased, I bought it the afternoon of the 2008 All-Star Game and wore it that night at OYS for the full 15 innings.

$63 Mets Opening Day tickets gets a little more mainstream press

Already reeling from a losing 2012 season, New York Mets fans will face, on average, higher ticket prices this upcoming season, especially for the most popular games. Under a so-called “dynamic pricing” model, the cheapest tickets for opening day or the home games versus the Yankees will run $63 — more than double last years cheapest seats.

Nice to see this starting to get noticed.

Mike V’s Countdown To Mets Opening Day

Shea Stadium Opening Day 2005Whether or not you’re willing to plunk down $63 the privilege in 2013, you may still be getting pumped/nostalgic for Opening Day. I’ve been going to Opening Day for as long as I can remember, and I’ll be posting various artifacts from the occasion as we get ready for April 1, 2013.

Just to temper your enthusiasm, I’m going to set the bar low for this first post with an image I took of the Shea Stadium Diamondvision from my seats on April 11, 2005.

Remember KEYSPAN? I think if a player hit that banner he won a steak sandwich or something. That alone makes you misty-eyed, I’m sure.
