Insight into “Are the Mets listening?”

During the week it has come up a few times whether or not the Mets are paying attention to things like blogs.   Matt Cerrone at MetsBlog has some insight and commentary on the subject here.

At a personal level, I’ve heard from numerous sources that the Mets visit here.   I’m hopeful that both the Mets and readers realize that my goal here is to help the franchise, never hurt, and I’m pleased to see that some of my friendly suggestions (like renaming the Saturday plan) were taken, coincidence or not.

Matt talks about the poor job the Mets do in responding, and a few weeks ago I suggested they need a new public face since none of us believe in the current crop.

Mets to add three-game ticket packs?

Supposedly, the Mets will add three-game packs next week.   You would be able to pick any price level (unlike the 6 packs which are just uppers).

For an idea of what this might look like, lets visit Redsox.com.  In the Fenway version these are standing-room tickets:

Returning for 2010, the popular Standing Room Only Pax offer the chance to see three games for as little as $60. You can create your own unique three-game package — including one game with either the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers!

If you click through you’ll find a “pick one game from Group A”, one from B and one from C.

Might this be coming to Citi Field next week?  Will you be able to include Opening Day or a Yankee game?  What about people who are now stuck in the outfield with 6-packs, will they be sad that the Mets didn’t tell them this was coming?  Will the Mets ever sell single-game tickets?

This morning’s MLB Spam Flushing Flash was pushing the Opening Day 6 Pack.  I guess those didn’t go as well as they thought?  Maybe you should get one and join us for the Blue Cap Army meetup.

Thanks to Richie for sending in the tip.  This site really is fueled by people like you who send things in and tip me off.   I’m [email protected] or @metspolice on twitter if you ever have anything (and apparently I’m shannonshark on the new Google Buzz thing.)

Blue Cap Army: Opening Day Signup

To the right (if you are reading this on a reader or Facebook come to this page you’ll see a form to submit your email address for the Blue Cap Army opening day get together.  Simply, the idea is for Mets fans to gather before the Opening Day game.  The point of the sign-up is to see what kind of numbers we have, maybe we can convince McFadden’s to let us in early or someone to buy us balloons or something.  Don’t know unless I try.

I’m finding the sign-up form to be buggy from the main page, so click here and then try it from the individual page. Thanks!

Update 3/9: the blue cap army is now on twitter and has made a friend.  Spread the word and let our numbers grow!
