Yet Still Even More Pics Of New Yankee Stadium – Giant Jeter Bobblehead?

I think everyone but me has gotten a private tour of New Yankee Stadium.

This guy got one and posted tons and tons of pics of his tour.

I find this Jeter bobblehead thing surpringsly lame. Meet you at the Jeter bobblehead?

The new place looks like a concrete jungle. Very drab and gray. Like a New York City park built around 1975 (ironic isn’t that).

Sorry Yankees fans, I’m increasingly convinced we have the better park yet again.

Maybe I’ll get to see New Yankee Stadium if the Yankees return my emails.

A-Rod Loves Himself In Details Magazine Article

See that on the left? That’s the photo that makes the lead in Details magazine. I knew A-Rod would do his best to take Brodeur’s day away from him.

Coupla things I like in the article:

On being the youngest player in the league: “I’m like, What am I doing here?” he recalls. “They’re going to barsâ€”I couldn’t get in to half the places.” I ask him if he had a fake ID. “Yeah, I probably had one of those at some point,” Rodriguez says cautiously, as if the Seattle PD might cuff him.

I’m not sure what this means:

Rodriguez doesn’t mind looking a bit human. “At one point I did nothing wrong,” he says, almost with pride. “And now, over the last three or four years, I caught up, you know?”

and he said this before the steroids:

“New York is one of a kind,” Rodriguez says. “It’s made me ask all the tough questions. It’s brought out the best in me. There are some things I have to work on. And that part is fun.” He pauses, and then, perhaps alluding to coming events, says, “Revealing the truth about yourself is always good.”

Oops.

WBC Let Ollie Perez Throw 85 Pitches???

So, as snarky as I can be, I hate piling on the truly negative stuff. I chose to completely ignore Shamsky, and I’m on the fence about the Dykstra thing. Also they say there were only 9 people on line for tickets at C-Field (once again I almost typed Shea). Not a big deal, everyone just jumps online these days.

The story that should be bugging everyone this morning is that Oliver Perez threw 85 pitches the other night in the WBC. I feel bad that i missed this yesterday, but I don’t wacth fake international tournaments. 85 pitches on March 15th? Before you tell me to calm down, how about this one?

USA Today reported last week that its own study showed nearly four of every five pitchers in the 2006 WBC recorded a higher ERA that season than the previous year. Even more ominously: More than one in three WBC pitching veterans spent time on the disabled list in ’06, including 14 who landed on it in April and May

I also didn’t freak out about K-Rod’s four inning save….but now there has been a second four out save.

Omar should get on the phone, bring his players home (Ollie is on his way, eliminated), and let Selig bitch all he wants. Let ESPN call the Mets names. Let bloggers complain. I’d rather all that than have a Met on the DL for no reason.
