Mets puzzle probably doesn’t come with the final piece, and wants you to use rookie pieces.

I saw this Mets puzzle and it made me wonder if it comes with the final piece, or if you’re just supposed to make it work with no first baseman, and an OF that has Lagares in it every day and no legitimate 4th or 5th OFer.  Asking for a friend.

The manufacturer assures me that the puzzle does come with all the pieces you need for a successful puzzle campaign.  Whew.

That being said, I think your puzzle would look a lot better if you added this guy.

Look, I’m just trying to fill a blog during a 10 day dead period.  I’m trying here.

Oh yeah, Salt and Pepper was a thing at one point with the Mets lol

Hey remember Salt & Pepper?

I just saw on Lyin’ Todd’s instagram bio that he had a link to the Todd Frazier Shop (Sad!) so I clicked on it and it reminded me of the Salt & Pepper.

You know, the New Mets, Mickey Hodges and his new culture and the 11-1 start and we were taking back New York yet again and all that?   Lol.

Let me remind you how nutty it got…

Ridiculous.  Mr. Manager, you look ridiculous.  It is time to go back to Connie Mack suits and ties.

AND there were even Fan Brand Salt & Petter inspired…(don’t use the word knockoffs, you’ll get attacked by t-shirt enthusiasts to start the year)….inspired shirts!

This is how nutty the Salt & Pepper got.  Boy that feels like so so so so long ago doesn’t it?

If only Mickey Hodges could have played .500 ball the rest of the way.   What if…

Mets’ Noah Syndergaard and Robert Gsellman running down some side street? You’ll look

Looks like LA, Venice-ish.  But I am quick posting and running out the door so if this is Obviously Brooklyn or something you can make fun of me.  The blogger’s a little over-loaded today.

Mets Police Morning Laziness: Sounds like No Yoenis Cespedes

Listen to this clip – after the annoying ad – Omar is talking about Cespedes and says “if he gives us anything this year, that’s great.”   That sounds like someone describing David Wright.  Go get an OFer Wags.

SLACKISH REACTION:  Had a full on caper yesterday where I had to show up at @mediagoon’s house to borrow a Mets jersey to give me a cover story for what I was really up to.  True story.

Anyway, I was all excited for New Year and back to blogging and then my day went heavy sideways mid-afternoon and then didn’t get home until 11:30 so I didn’t even get to do Late Night Posts…..so the blog had a low traffic day which annoys me.   Today I am in the same boat and need to run out the door so let’s keep this short.   At least today I know what’s up so I can drag forward some posts that I keep squirreled away for busy days.  I also have a new stash of stuff someone sent me….but no time to process it and nobody else works here.  Sorry, just venting to the universe.  Gotta run…

UNCONFIRMED HALLWAY GOSSIP:  Saw Media Goon’s sister who said The T-Shirt Guy said that Pete McCarthy will be doing the stuff that Wayne used to do on Mets pre and post….she may have also said that Pete will split that with Ed Coleman.  Anyway, I am happy for Pete and hopefully that’s true.  I don’t have time to source that this morning, maybe poke around TTSG’s socials.  Later.

The 2015 Mets are going to age very well and I already miss them

The 2015 Mets.  The good old days.

Look at this wonderful group of players….this is the Game 1 Word Series lineup

RF  Granderson – who doesn’t love CG?  One of my favorite recent Mets.  I miss him more and more.

3B Wright – it already feels like so long ago.  At least David got to play in one WS.

2B Murphy – say what you want, but Murphtober was awesome.

Let’s stop there three players in.  Don’t you already miss that more than anything this 2019 team has on paper?

CF Cespedes –  Sandy’s second or third choice, but boy nobody was hotter or did more to carry a team than Ces did those 6 weeks.  I guess he’s theoretically still here but seems gone.

1B  Duda

C   d’Arnaud

LF  Conforto – wait, we can actually develop our own hitters?  In Queens?  Amazin’   He may wind up being the bridge from The Old to whatever is to come.

SS Flores – yes kids you can get to the World Series playing just about anyone at SS.  Stop lecturing me about defense and hit the ball.  And we’ll never forget him crying in what was almost a massive Sandy error.

There was a DH, Kelly Johnson. LOL.

And on the mound, The Dark Knight.  As you know I like to kill Matt, but he probably did blow up his career pitching that September and for that we should always be thankful – but as I wrote that fall….no regrets, you had to go for it no matter what the cost…and the cost was what was about to come for Matt.  And in that series we got one last Dark Knight fantasy where you guys thought he was the Next Seaver.

And don’t forget Thor and JDG in that rotation.

How do you not look back fondly on that team….already half-dismantled.
