Can bloggers write off research trips to new Mets AAA affiliate?

Question…if the Mets have a AAA team somewhere (oh let’s say it is in Las Vegas) it’s of paramount importance that I be totally up to speed on the affiliate so that I can write meaningfully about the experience, right?  I’m going to need airfare, hotel and a little meal money.

There had been some thought that the Mets, if dropped by Buffalo, would stay in the International League and sign on with nearby Rochester, but that’s no longer a possibility after Rochester reached a two-year extension with the Twins.

So where does that leave the Mets? Scrambling for a new Triple-A home and likely being forced out of the International League and into the Pacific Coast League where they’d take over Las Vegas from the Blue Jays.

Oh you know what else is smart when you need a AAA home – getting in a whistling match with the Yankees over one year in Newark.  I’m sure they will welcome a Mets minor league team in Suffolk.
