Nice sweep of the Brewers! Â I don’t know why Jerry is still “interim.” Â He’s done a great job with tape and glue and guys we never heard of.
They ducked Sabathia but they have to be at least a little in the Brewers heads now (although that didn’t help the ’88 Mets when they met the Dodgers in the playoffs. Â Look it up kids.)
I’m really excited that it caught them up in the Wild Card standings. Â I hate the Wild Card (off-season topic) but it exists so why not use it. Â I have no confidence in the bullpen and the rotation is me, you, Perez, Santana and someone else – Â so I kinda like the idea of a safety net.
The only rotten note this week was that as president of the Jon Niese Fan Club, this future Hall of Famer didn’t get his first win, and that 4th inning looked kinda like Pedro does half the time. Â He was as nervous as Willie Randolph flying to the West Coast. Â I hope they keep Niese in the rotation, he’s got stuff.
