Mets add….checks notes…SVP Luxury Ventures & Growth

Whatever happened to playing baseball?  I’m sure Kevin is groovy and all but it seems the Mets are getting more and more away from being a baseball team.

BTW guys, I am not sure bragging about being associated with the Los Angeles Chargers is anything special….unless the goal here is to pack Citi with fans of the visiting team and to be the #2 team in the market.

The Mets are pleased to welcome Kevin J. Gessay to the organization as Senior Vice President, Luxury Ventures & Growth. In this newly created role with the Mets, Kevin will lead the development of new luxury experiences and partnerships. Kevin will focus on creating unique experiences around the Mets while continuing to position the organization and Citi Field as a leading luxury sports and entertainment destination for fans, marketers, and other strategic partners. He will report to Chief Growth Officer Andrew Grossman.

Kevin comes to the Mets with more than 25 years of expertise in curating experiences, luxury brand marketing, communications, and sports hospitality. Most recently, Kevin co-developed and launched ‘Chargers LUX’, an innovative sports membership program for premium clientele of the LA Chargers.

Prior to his time with the Los Angeles Chargers, he was Managing Director for PMK-BNC London (global publicity and marketing firm in Entertainment and Popular Culture), where he led UK office operations, client storytelling, and new business. Some of his clients included Haig Club, Pepsi Europe, American Express Europe and Unilever. Kevin was at PMK-BNC in Los Angeles for 14 years, where he led brand premium hospitality programs, communications, cross-channel marketing, celebrity procurement, and influencer outreach for brands like Audi, Ketel One, Samsung, GM and Anheuser-Busch.
