Video From Mets Citi Field Opening Day (Night) And Quick Review/Thoughts

I think this video really captures what it was like to walk around last night.

Citi Field opens for the regular season

I never went home so I didn’t get to upload photos, plus I have a real job to focus on.

Quick top of mind:

They really need to “Mets up the place.”   hang some photos and some more blue and orange.  If the Mets move to Mercury, any other team could move right in and not change a thing except the retired numbers.

They need to fix the cash register thing.  Every time I’ve gone the wifi has crapped out, causing long concession lines.   Workers shrugging their shoulders when they mess up my order (see below) isn’t very fan friendly.  Little did they know they were dealing with the Mets Police.

I can’t see the left fielder from Promenade 530s but I was OK with it because I feel like I’m hanging over the infield.

The ceremony was nice enough, nothing wrong with it, but they really should have trotted out more Mets.  if Rusty, Doc and others were there…have them wave.

I’m happy that Howie Rose has gone from not being allowed on until a half hour after the official corporate post game show (the dreaded Todd Kalas days, sorry about your dad Todd) to being the new Bob Murphy. It was nice to have a true Mets fan handle the duties.

Seaver to Piazza wasn’t as exciting the second time.   I didn’t feel the same rush.

Retire #17 already.   I heard Keith blew off some steam about “Tatis fans” on TV.   Keith is right.
