Worst Mets Citi Field Obstructed View Ever (Video!)

Oh my goodness.

I don’t even know what to say.   Mel sent this in and well…..wow.

Keep in mind this “view” is without anyone on the staircase.

David Howard, explain yourself.

Mel adds:

This is horrible. Avoid sitting in the first 3 rows along seats 1 through 6 in every section of the promenade. How can Dave Howard say there are no obstructions at Citifield??? What do you call this? A standing room only ticket would be worth more than this. At least you can see the action on the field. Shea Stadium did not have anything as bad as this.

  1. I agree with Mel……us poor dudes on the promanade get the lousy views! RetangoFett

  2. Oh boo hoo. Grow 3 inches so you can see over the railing. Or better yet, go hang out at any of the hundreds of standing room tables and get a great view without being constricted to a seat.

  3. This is completely unacceptable. Most new ballparks have single rows going all the way up eliminating the need for mid-level entry points. This is just poor design and the people who are stuck with these seats have every right to ask to be moved.

  4. The Mets bill this place as a "World Class Ballpark". What a joke, this place is a world class dissapointment. I have been to all 30 current major league stadiums and 15 others that have since closed and I can tell you that this place is no where near as good as AT&T, PNC, or Camden Yards, Citizens Bank, Safeco Field and I could go on and on. I think that by now most employees at Citifield know that this is a bad design with terrible sightlines and obstructed views after hearing it non-stop from disgruntled fans. You don't have to go to all 30 stadiums like I have to know that this a bad design. Just go to 3 of the best Camden, AT&T and PNC and you'll see what I mean. I bought a 15 game Friday ticket plan in section 435 of the promenade boxes and cannot see the last 75 to 80 feet of leftfield and also a large portion of center. I have to look at the scoreboard and wait for the replay to see what happened if anything is hit in those areas. I and my wife refuse to sit in those seats for the entire game and usually go stand behind homeplate in the promenade section after the second inning. Two years ago my wife and I went to see the Mets play in San Francico and took the tour of AT&T before the game. Based on the renderings that I had seen on the Mets Website I told the Tour guide that Citifield was going to be a better ballpark than AT&T. Boy was I wrong! If I were ever to meet that tour guide again I would apologize.

  5. To : Anonymous who said “Boo Hoo”…. I did get up and go to a standing area and saw the game just fine. My point is that the Mets should alert the fans buying these seats about the obstructions. What if the fan who bought the seat was an elderly person that cant stand for 3 hrs to watch the game and expected to be able to see it from his seat???? So why don’t you grow three inches and give me your seat instead a**hole.

  6. Complaining about this stunningly beautiful and fun stadium is a sickness that should be dealt with by a trained professional. not everything in life has to be exactly how YOU want it.

This is baseball heaven!!!! Period!! Everything has flaws!

  7. I think everyone is forgetting the walkways through every level of Shea. If you were in row 1 of the reserved sections (behind the walkway) you saw nothing but people walk by you. Mezz reserved seats were more expensive than Prom infield. You also were stuck in those seats, no place to walk to at Shea. I know the plexiglass is a pain, but in the main scheme of things we have it a lot better and my seats are less expensive than Shea

  8. The Mutts suck do they are doing you a favor obstructing your view. Why would you want a full view of them choking again in September? Ha ha ha ha, go Phils !!

  9. thats what you get when you build a food court with a ballfield attached. The New York Mets should be ashamed of themselves for years of ineptitude by ownership and total disregard for the fans of this team. Citifield, you are no Camden Yards.

  10. The name on the outside of the stadium is wrong. It should be called Shittyfield because that is exactly what it is. The morons who say that this is a good place are the same ones who think it holds a good team and that the rotunda has a great Met inside. Not even professionals could help them.
