The Great Prophet Mushnick on New York Yankees Tickets

The great prophet Phil Mushnick for years predicted the time when you couldn’t give away tickets to a Mets-Phillies game or a Yankees-Red Sox game, and when fans would finally stop going to games.  Was it the ticket prices?  30 years of playoff games starting so late that the 50% of the population that lives in the eastern time zone couldn’t stay up to se ethe end of the games?   Taking games off free TV (in 1986 I missed half the Mets season because Queens wasn’t even wired for cable so don’t talk to me about money).

Who knows what exactly it was.

Today the great prophet has shared another great insight with us:

Reader Gary Cicio, NYC podiatrist, did the research, and asks us to choose one of the two options to see a Mariners-Yankees game this season, and from the very best seats:

Option 1: Two tickets to Tuesday night, June 30, Mariners at Yanks, cost for just the tickets, $5,000.

Option 2: Two round-trip airline tickets to Seattle, Friday, Aug. 14, return Sunday the 16th, rental car for three days, two-night double occupancy stay in four-star hotel, two top tickets to both the Saturday and Sunday Yanks-Mariners games, two best-restaurant-in-town dinners for two. Total cost, $2,800. Plus-frequent flyer miles.
