Enough with the Sheffield (New York Mets)

Enough.

Last night as I switched between Idol and SNY (like you don’t) I saw
Gary Sheffield holding a bat. All I could think was what a wasted at
bat it would be.

There’s talk of Murphy playing first if Delgado goes DL and Jerry says
the Mets can get a look at Sheffield.

Why? He’s old and slow and the Mets play in a triples park with 600
foot fences that are 30 feet high.

Did Ryan Church scratch Jerry’s car? Steal his girlfriend?

Let’s take more looks at Reed. Maybe he’s good and can be part of
core-two with Murphy, Pelfrey, Santos and Niese.

Tatis deserves some at bats too based upon 2008.

Sheffield? No thanks. He wastes a roster spot. There’s no future
there, no need to take a look.

  1. Well, I've now been to both stadiums. The Yankees relocated our tickets from 1st base between the mound & the bag in the lower deck. Our plan is now 2nd deck in fair territory about 420 feet from home plate. It would be like watching the game from the concrete behind the Pepsi Porch! So many issues with new Yankee Stadium and feel like we've lost the great NYC experience. On the other hand my visit to Citi Field brought great joy and was a true NYC baseball experience and a big upgrade from Shea. At Citi you don't feel the presence of ownership in your face. At Yankee Stadium you know management has crossed the line. Also, the fleet of Hip Hop Cops at Yankee Stadium to protect the rich patrons is over the top. It will be a Met City for some time to come. I can't wait to go to my next game at Citi!!
