Kids….Kevin Mitchell was a hell of a ballplayer in 1986.   Davey Johnson was a maniac and would play him anywhere, including shortstop when Sid pitched.

The Mets ran him out of town to protect young and innocent Doc & Darryl.  Oops.

“I was the bad seed, they said. But those guys were already in the big leagues and I’m a rookie and I’m telling them what to do? There’s no way.”

He was the 1989 MVP and I bet if you’re under 25 you have never heard of Kevin McReynolds.   That’s who they traded him for.
