  1. As a New Yorker in exile with an iPhone, I've gotten very familiar with the WFAN feeds. I can tell you there's nothing that kills the flow of a game more than:

    "AND HE'S SAFE AT HOME! Keep your family safe and secure with [insurance agency]. AND THE METS TAKE THE LEAD!"

  2. Interesting topic. Richard Neer was talking about this on Sunday on WFAN during the rain delay with some callers (I kept falling asleep on him though, so I didn't get all of what was said).

    My whole idea is simple. Don't overpay the players. Cut down the highest salaries by 10%-20%. Take that extra money and cut out some of the extra advertising since now the team doesn't need that money. That allows lower rights fees on TV and radio, so they don't need to inject the advertising, and leave it to the commercial breaks.

    Notice that the advertising wasn't this visible/audible 15 years ago. It's gone up out of necessity to compensate for the salaries.
