The official statement is below.

The New York Mets today unveiled several enhancements to Citi Field highlighted by new high definition video boards in Right Field and on the Promenade Level to make it easier for fans to follow live action in all areas of the ballpark. The boards will make their debut tonight with the Mets 7:10 p.m. game against the San Francisco Giants.

The Mets have erected a new 18-foot by 32-foot HD video board in the Right Field corner that will conveniently allow fans in Left Field and down the third base line to track live action whenever the ball is in play. An additional 8-foot by 14-foot HD board will show the live game broadcast to fans in the Promenade Food Court area behind home plate.

The addition of these boards complements the Center Field and Right Field boards, those facing into the 2K Sports FanFest, and more than 800 Sharp HD televisions throughout Citi Field. A new LED board that will display league standings and other information will be added to the Out-of-Town Scoreboard in Left Field.

To improve sightlines in the Promenade Level, the Mets are lowering the LED ribbon boards hanging on its façade by approximately one foot. The first phase of work on the boards on the Left Field Landing has been completed. In addition, the metal edging on the glass railings at the bottom of the stairs and aisles throughout the ballpark are in the process of being removed.

“In our ongoing effort to serve our fans, we proactively sought their feedback – through direct dialogue and e-mail, and via online and in-person research,” said Dave Howard, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, New York Mets. “These new enhancements are a direct result of that communication and are designed to make the Citi Field experience even more exceptional.”

The Mets also have begun installing photographic imagery of famous Mets and historic moments in team history on the Field and Promenade Levels to complement the banners on the exterior of the ballpark. The team championship banners are also on display on the Left Field wall.

Darryl Strawberry, Keith Hernandez and Dwight Gooden cover the side of the Empire Suites by section 106 in the Right Field corner on the Field Level. Gil Hodges, Tom Seaver and Jerry Koosman jumping into the arms of Jerry Grote celebrating the 1969 World Series championship cover the other end of the Empire Suite Level on the third base side near section 126 on the Field Level. Images of Mike Piazza and Casey Stengel will go up in Left Field during the current homestand.

On the Promenade Level going from Left Field to Right Field are images of the 1986 world championship team; Al Leiter, John Franco and Edgardo Alfonzo; Rusty Staub, Tommie Agee and Tug McGraw; Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, David Wright and Johan Santana; and Gary Carter, Mookie Wilson and Lenny Dykstra.

The Mets will announce plans for additional recognition of club history in the weeks ahead.
