Most Popular Articles On Mets Police (Wrecking Ball Edition)

I named this the Wrecking Ball edition of the “Most Popular” in honor of Bruce Springsteen’s new song which I’ll post at the bottom of the article…a song about the demolition of Giants Stadium, and it seems appropriate to me that we take a wrecking ball to the 2009 season which will be unforgettable because we moved to a new home, and will be a disastrous season to which many other disasters will be compared.  Even if Springsteen isn’t your thing if you visit this site I know stadiums and sports are, so you may dig the lyrics.

In case you’re wondering, the Mets Police is not one of those blogs that goes dormant until April.  We’ll be here every day with at minimum one new article.  You’d be surprised to see how many I already have lined up and ready to go.   When there’s news or cool stuff to share we will.  I thought this week would be a sleepy one and it was one of the busiest since July, so you never know.

My attention may drift to football or hockey some days..I’m sure I’ll do a lot of hat-links and uniform stuff….but we’ll be here every single day through the offseason so keep coming back.   Much thanks to the regular visitors and those who send me stuff ([email protected]) – and as always thanks to those who link to us.

And with that…here’s a look at the most popular from the past week and some that deserved more love:

I started out the week by annoying some people with my 2009 Mets Grades.  Mets Police gave out grades to everyone from David Howard to Jose Reyes to the Pepsi Prize Patrol.  I may have forgotten Fernando Martinez.  Oops.

Then there was news that the news that the 2010 Mets will have new uniforms which have nothing to do with the uniform survey the Mets did earlier in the year.

I also annoyed the snot out everyone by suggestion that the Mets should move on without Reyes.   We’ll see who’s right come April.  NY Magazine did a nice piece about Jose.

The Mets announced price cuts…but I think we all heard what we wanted to hear.  Analyzing the wording of the letter reveals some interesting possibilities.  So I made 9 Suggestions For The NY Mets Ticket Office which was the only thing I wrote all week that everyone liked.

Here’s some fan-designed alternate uniform designs.  Here’s a silky blue jersey.

Here is how Citi Field will look like for UFL Football.

Paul McCartney at Citi Field will be out on DVD soon.

An updated compilation of obstructed views at Citi Field

Yankee Stadium guides and parking tips.

So as the season ends, take it away Bruce, Fred and Jeff…bring on your wrecking ball!
