Five Questions For An Average Mets Fan (Fan #5)

Next up..5 questions for an average Mets fan Mike.

1. When did you start following the Mets?

1985, and after 1986 I was hooked.

2. What is your favorite Mets memory?

The 86 season  as a whole.  I was just a kid and it was the highlight to listen to or watch every game.

3. What is your worst Mets memory or experience?

Sitting in the Bleachers at Yankee stadium when Castillo dropped the pop up this year.   Pretty much summed up the 2009 season.

4. If you could change one off-field thing about the franchise what
would it be?

New management / New strength conditioning and medical staff.  – We all know the poor management choices but to me all the injuries seem to point to some other issues as well.  Minor injuries being brushed under the rug. To me all the injuries say that something is up there.

5. If you owned the team starting tomorrow, what is the first thing
you would change?

Establish a team identity.  – The team is now 47 years old.  We aren’t the new kids on the block.   We have enough of a past we can honor.  69 season, 86 season.  Heck, 73 season.  What better exemplifies how Mets fans feel then “ya gotta believe” ?   Back to basics – one home uniform, one road uniform. – one hat.  I don’t care as much about colors as some people do, but there should just be one.

Metsify Citi Field.  I don’t want it to be like shea.  I loved Shea, but that was the past.  We finally have a ballpark that was designed for one purpose, baseball, and it was built for one team, the Mets.  When people walk in they should know who’s home it is, and when they leave they should remember who they saw.
