Five Questions For An Average Mets Fan (Fan #48)

$48….the number of Randy Myers, and our 48th fan with answers to the 5 Questions for an average Mets fan is Charles..

1. When did you start following the Mets?
1972, Willie Mays was brought home, Dad
took me to a game and Henry Aaron hit two out.
Willie made a basketcatch in CF.  The love affair
began.
2. What is your favorite Mets memory?
1986, the season and what it meant to all of us.
The post-season, the celebration, finally realizing
and understanding we were the best.
3. What is your worst Mets memory or experience?

George Thomas Seaver being traded.1988, blowing up against the Dodgers.  Gooden admitting a terrible problem.

4. If you could change one off-field thing about the franchise what would it be?
The Wilpons to sell.  If you love your business and cant do it very well, youd put someone else in charge and sit back and reap
their work and benefit from their work.  If you dont want to do that and continue to fail, you sell.
5. If you owned the team starting tomorrow, what is the first thing you would change?
The culture which has taken over this team and is is now very much alive.  That being the second best in this town is OK.  Its not.  Embrace the past, the good and the bad, celebrate Tom, Kooz, Gil, 73, 86, 00.  The fact that, that place opened up without a tribute or statue dedicated to Gil or Tom is a disgrace.
Again, please sell, Mr Wilpon.  If you love it, let it go.
