The Mets just emailed the database to encourage the purchasing of Mets at Phillies tickets.
I myself enjoy making that trip, and I think it’s smart out of the box thinking. Â I don’t know what the financial arrangements are among the teams, it’s just interesting.
Well, we know the visiting team gets a good portion of the sales (as we learned about the concerts and parking prices at Citi Field)
I suspect the mlb mets ticket blasts aren’t actually or completely authored by the Mets specifically, and are a little more league-generic in nature.
Indeed they are league-wide. I am a Red Sox/Mets fan (a transplanted Bostonian) and I just got an email from the RAYS about seeing the Rays at Fenway…of course there are no tickets available…very odd.
do you really think the Mets ownership wants to encourage their fans to head down to Philly and get ideas of what Citi Field could have and maybe should have been?
I despise citizen’s bank ballpark. One of my least favorite parks. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
The parks are actually really similar from a fan-amenities perspective… Both with the great centerfield food concourses, symbolic items in right-center (Liberty Bell replica vs. Hell Gate Bridge replica)… it’s just the dimensions that are radically different.
Not to mention the fact that the dopes in Philly actually found a way to give every seat a clear view of the field… DOH!
I really liked the Phillies’ park. Sorry but I do.
