Wbcs880.com has some photo updates of the Citi Field modifications including the new white line along the CF fence.
At first glance it looks to me as if they didn’t actually lower the fence, they just put a white line at the 8 foot mark. Someone warm up the instant replay machine. I am not a fan of the line.
I’m looking at the pictures on my phone, my insights may be off-base.
UPDATE: Â now that I have had a chance to look at this, I’m still not sure what to make of the white line. Â Is it a construction marker for cut here? Â Is it where a yellow or orange home run line will be painted? Â What will happen with the ads? Â Will the line go through them? Â Will the ads be lowered?
More pics here.
The captions say “In the photos with the apple, the white line above “408” shows what the new height of the center field fence will be.”, so hopefully it is not just a line.
It’s not just a line. I’m trying to decide if that’s a line drawn by the Mets to measure, or did CBS add in that line to show us what’s going on?
I was under the impression taht it had been confirmed the wall was only going down directly in front of the apple, to make it uniform.
It is not a “white” line. It is the same line that has always been there. It is where padding panels meet up. It is just light reflecting.

really well done!!!
just look at the opening day give away Apple…….that is what its going to look like. The padding is 8 feet sections so it is the sun on the seam. (2 sections = 16 feet in LF) But will also be where the new line will be.
Bullpens looks like they will be much much better.
in that same shot, the Citi sign, look how nice that blue (with orange) would look all over those depressing black vinyl.
