These are from a little before my time, if I have my facts right the Mets wore these a few times in 1976. Â I have never seen one in person and game footage seems rare.
I’m adding pillbox caps to the list of things I will bring back when I finally own the Mets. Â Expect Pillbox Cap day, Lee Mazzilli poster night II and of course Mettle the Mule’s return.
Man, these looked horrible with the Pirates and even worse with any other team. In many ways, Shannon, I hope you get your wish to be the Mets Big Cheese, but reinstitution of the pill box hat is not one I share.
I love these! As a kid the Pirates were my 2nd favorite team because of the pillbox caps (and the cool pirate logo). If these are for sale I’m snatching one up.
