Must read: The Mets’ focus group

Over at NJ.com Matt Artus has a must-read about a Mets focus group.

The group, which consisted of thirtysomethings and up from across the tri-state area, certainly covered the bases you’d expect them to cover. The consultant asked about the Citi Field experience, which induced responses about the awfully loud music, obstructed sightlines, and need for more Shake Shacks. The consultant asked about the cost of tickets, which the group felt was worth half what the Mets charge and made inexplicably complicated by the team’s variable pricing structure. The consultant asked about the face of the franchise, which the group designated as “no one” because David Wright hasn’t quite made the leap yet while a minority still bought into the fallacy that the Mets have a pro-Latin bias.

More details here!!!

Matt writes a great blog, if it’s off your radar you should add it to your rotation.  Great job Matt!!!!

  1. The focus group is exactly what is wrong with the Mets. They are more concerned about public image than winning. At the end of the day, fans care about winning. I don’t care if we win with pitching and defense or with offense. If Ike and Thole don’t bring any rings, why do I want the Mets to stick with them? This proves the problem is not Omar, it’s Fred and Jeff.

  2. Lets see what do we have to look foward to in 2011 Fred will state they will lower prices across the board but he wont tell is that the only seats that will be reduced 15% are ones that they cant sell for the last 2 years .As far as the regular fans the promanade deck will be cut again by 4% giving 75 dollars for the season but he will make that up by raising parking fees by a buck to 20 dollars making 80 a win win

  3. Focus group how about the Wilpons focus on putting a major league team on the field .Do we have to remind them that they are in a major market and fans here wont tolerate their bulls*** any more
