From Phil Mushnick’s column today:
By the way, that 2000 World Series episode, when Roger Clemens, illogically enraged, threw a piece of Mike Piazza’s splintered bat back toward him, is it now safe to assume what was long presumed — that Clemens’ rage was drug-aided?
Meantime, why does Piazza remain unwilling to answer questions about his widely suspected power-producing drug use?
Interesting to see that in print.
I keep a list of players in my head that are my own “I won’t be shocked list” and as I have said in the past there is at least one notable Met on it.

We’ll be doing the podcast tonight at 6:30
While you can’t be surprised about any player from that era, shouldn’t it at least be noted that it’s only Murray Chass and Phil Mushnick that have said anything?
I mean we had the Mitchell Report, with Radomski from the Mets clubhouse, and still Piazza was not named (although I will admit Radomski’s presence in the clubhouse doesn’t bode well for him either).
Let’s let Chass and Mushnick come up with some credible evidence for once substantiated by other NY sports writers that have credibility. Show me a Mike Vaccarro or Shaun Powell story and I’ll be concerned.
Chass come across as an idiot when Piazza was at Citi Field, virtually begging (okay, not even virtually) for the guy to address his column specifically and called out all the other writers for not asking him about it. I’m not even going to read Mushnick’s. He’s not worthy of my time.
