Now what Mets fans?

Good morning Mets fans,

We got our blood. Omar’s head is on a stick, Jerry has left town and the Wilpons knelt before us and begged us to stay.

Now what?

As you know, my blog is different so I will leave the “Who is the next GM?” and “It’s really important that the Mets get this right!” stuff to everyone else. They do it better than I do so I don’t bother.

What about the guys like you and me?

Are you going to renew your tickets?

Have you written 2011 off?

Last night I wrote about blog traffic and blogging in general. Since I don’t really do news and focus on fan stuff I actually have a decent amount lined up and expect the traffic to stay about the same.

Scheduled for today (plus or minus news or me bumping stuff):

10am: The final 2010 Uniform standings. I liked what I found let’s put it that way.

11am: the Yankees at Shea

Lunch: Some ticket ideas for Jeff Wilpon

Not bad right?

Later in the week I have some jerseys, caps, a Jets at Shea thing for Sunday….

I do want to hear from you. Guest posts, weird Mets stuff you have in your closet, random suggestions, old videos, a picture of you at Banner Day….you know the kind of stuff I do here. All is welcome and appreciated by me and the readers. Send to [email protected]

  1. Among ticket ideas for next year:
-Make the biggest reduction in prices in the mid-range seats: the field & club level seats are only bought by those who can pay top dollar anyway. The Wilpons should try to provide more reasonably priced tickets for the average fans
-More day games! Stop with 7:00 pm Saturday night games — make all Saturday/Sunday games 1:00 pm starts so people can take their kids
-Add more weekday afternoon games. I’m sure the Beancounters tell them night games are more profitable, but have the Mets noticed that the 1 or 2 midweek afternoon games they have draw huge crowds. Hello? Baseball fans love day games — go ask the Cubs.

  2. I’m going to renew my plan in 2011 for the sheer fact that I do it every year. Good or bad it is embedded in my DNA to buy Mets tickets every year. I have come to accept I am just a glutton for punishment. I love my Mets though and short or the owners or players killing someone in my family or cop, I am going to support the team whether I agree with what they do or not. As far as writing of 2011, I will wait until February to make that decision. Anything can happen in the next 4 months.
