shannon, in ’75 i was working for the parks dept. at shea stadium fixing the original wooden seats every game day. needless to day every day was game day for i was at all met and YANKEE games during this summer. and in the winter i worked both giant and jet games (weekends only)..shea was torn apart those years from over use and under maintenance..on top of that the city was almost bankrupt and not putting any money into the upkeep at shea. these mid 70’s years really aged shea for which it never fully recovered.
Wow Mike, I have to interview you! I really want to know more about the Yankees at Shea.
They used to cover the giant Mets logo on the top of the scoreboard with a Yankees logo that had semi-cirlce wind flaps cut into it.
