The Mets aren’t real are they?
They are just a television show, or I am on the Truman Show or something because this can’t possibly be a real story-line. It just can’t. (I suspect Greg Prince is the head writer.)
I was out all day and just got home so I jumped on Mets Blog to see what I missed and Michael Baron’s headline is Francisco Rodriguez Lived With Charlie Samuels.
Now you guys are just effing with me. You probably set up a fake “bloggers conference call” and are all snickering that I believed I was speaking to “David Howard” and now you’ve made up that K-Rod was living with Charlie, and even have me caught up in a non-controversy over who chooses the black uniforms.
You’re all just messing with me. This can’t be happening. Next you’ll pretend to name Lee Mazzilli the manager.
That information came to light in the course of a criminal investigation into a gambling ring in which the authorities believe Samuels was involved, according to two people briefed on the matter.

Everything has to be true – fiction has to be believable, after all.
You know, if a week ago, someone said K-Rod had stayed with Charlie for a time after his arrest/restraining order, you would not have given it a second thought. To make some kind of connection to it, and Charlie’s current problems is highly premature, and a bit silly.
If you think the Times is bad, the Daily News is even worse. In addition to the K-Rod angle, they’re bringing up a $50,000 tip that Jeff Francoeur gave to Samuels before getting traded and a car that Mike Piazza gave him. http://bit.ly/cIWPbw
Those Wilpons are really good judges of people aren’t they? Can’t wait for Charlie to sing like a canary. Anybody want to bet some major embarrassments still out there?
Uhh..the Wilpons didn’t hire him right?
Charlie has been with the team since 1983…so the Wilpon/Doubledays hired him I guess
thought it was 76, clubhouse since 83?
can we blame M. Donald Grant? We haven’t done that this century!
Doesn’t matter who hired him…you’d think that during the last 10 years, somebody should have picked up that something wasn’t right.
The series is entering its 50th season on the air, so we had to freshen up the storylines a bit. “Banished allegedly violent reliever moves in with allegedly crooked equipment manager” is one we hadn’t done before.
