Happy Metsivus

Good morning Mets fans,

While I take a special bonus weekday outing to the Unnamed Donuts Chain, I wanted to wish you a happy Metsivus.

As is our tradition, I invite you to the airing of the grievances. I will go first.

Oliver. Oh Ollie. Do you not understand team? Do you mot understand people were trying to help you? Would an August in Buffalo been that bad?

Francisco. Don’t bring that crap in here. Man up and play better.

Fran. No you haven’t called a game in years but I am still annoyed at how many awful games you called.

Doc. Get it together man. You’ve gone to the forgiveness well too many times.

Terry.  No not new Terry, the other one.  September 11, 1987. Terry, they had battled all the way back. Why did you do that to me?

San Diego. Just play a day game after a West Coast Trip and don’t make the Mets open their new stadium at night.

Dave. They’re obstructed.

Luis. Put it in the….oh hell.

  1. Well, i don’t celebrate festivus, but everyone has a pass from me, except Dan Warthen.

Dan: Let pitchers pitch, build up their arm strength. actually work with them instead of calling them liars and letting them reinvent their mechanics on the fly. If you see someone hurt in the bullpen, actually make a decision to scratch him, don’t “wait and see” after one batter. Did you ever think that the Long Relief guy might like to have some time to warm up without 30thousand fans and two teams waiting for him to get warm? Pay attention to your pitchers so you can tell when your ace is tipping is pitches, or you’ve got a guy out there with a basestealing tell that the Phillies are running rampant on. IN GAME ADJUSTMENTS. You know what? just call Leo Mazzone or Rick Peterson and resign please.

    1. The Mets posted the 6th-best ERA in the league with an opening rotation of:

      -one legit ace (Santana)
-a youngster just beginning to live up to expectations (Pelfrey)
-a guy who didn’t last until Memorial Day (Maine)
      -Oliver Freakin’ Perez
      and
-a rookie coming off of a hamstring repair (Niese)

yet Warthen’s the problem and everyone else gets a pass?

All I want for Christmas is a stocking full of whatever Ceetar is smoking. 😉

  2. Wilpons: You lowered prices for the 2011 season up in Shea 2. Why didn’t you lower the prices down in PSL for the Spring Training games?

Sandy: I know we are waiting out the 2011 season, but can we at least finish ahead of the Nationals?

Terry: Gonna give you the benefit of the doubt for 2100. There should be plenty of good chances for you to have so melt downs during the year.

Met Players: The least you can do is give it your best every game…. Run hard to first base…Play good sound baseball…

Shannon: I will send you some pictures from Digital Domain Park as I am going to meet some friends there on Jan 15th when tickets go on sale to the general public!

Met Fans: 52 days till “Pitchers and Catchers Report!
