Fear of a Black Apple Mets Police

If you follow @metspolice or @readtheapple you may have noticed our “blogger war.”  Two interesting and creative items have hit my inbox out of it.

First, this little ditty which if anyone out there has a good singing voice I’d love to hear.  From Sparks, to the tune of Meet the Mets:

Mets Police
Mets Police
Log right on to Mets Police

No box scores here,
No deep stats.
We’re too busy fighting ugly black hats.
You’ll find The Mets Police always on patrol
Taking on topics, heavy and droll
Clear views, crisp blues
Why Lee Mazzilli was the bomb
In broken paragraph format
Mets Police dot com

The neglected and the faithful
and jersey geeks everywhere
Where do they go?
To Mets Police!
The nostalgic and the cheated
Looking for a place that cares
Where do they go?
To Mets Police!

The Mets Police always brighten your day
With so much more than just the game
So bring yourself on down to Mets Police
(The Apple is so lame)

Set a bookmark!
It’s always there!
You can feed your Mets fix any time or where!

What also has come out of the blogger war was discussion of various Mets blogs merging.  So far Fear of A Black Apple Mets Police has some traction (although I think we need to make it Matt Cerrone’s Fear Of A Black Apple Mets Police if we are going to get real traffic numbers) and @metstwerp has made us a logo.

The Super Blog would combine great writing, great humor and graphics skills, video technology and whatever the heck it is that I bring to the table.

Finally, since it is Randy from The Apple’s birthday this week I think we should end this blogger war once and for all (until the next time we want to cross-promote our sites).  Thus we will need a replacement line for the mean horrible dig at The Apple in Sparks’ song.  Sparks you touched my heart, thank you.  You complete me.

Sing along: Meet_the_Mets (Police)_Instrumental

Coming up…less “The Apple” wanna-be articles and more “UniWatch” wanna be articles, plus some cool Shea photos.  The inbox is great this morning, but I have this whole Day Job that pays my mortgage and stops me from playing in the outfield.
