Four-Part Series Set For March 1-4 on MSG Network
New York, NY – January 26, 2011 – The 1986 New York Mets captivated sports fans like never before, with their unique cast of characters, winning brand of baseball and tabloid headlines. Today, the ’86 Mets are one of the most storied teams in New York sports history. To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of that team, MSG Network will debut “Summer of ’86: The Rise and Fall of the World Champion Mets” on Tuesday, March 1.
Each 30-minute episode of the four-part, consecutive night series will feature interviews with players and coaches as they reflect on that memorable season, New York celebrities and dignitaries who watched from the stands, and the writers who got a firsthand look at an incredible season of baseball in New York.

Darryl Strawberry: “We had a real swagger about ourselves. We had confidence about ourselves. We didn’t care what anyone thought of us. We were the New York Mets.”
Gary Carter: “We were the team that everyone loved to hate.”
