Um sure, OK, whatever.
The Mets should especially honor Joey because he is a symbol of rebirth. New York was in financial ruins in the 1970s. The muggers seemed to outnumber the cops and the subway cars seemed to be held together by grime and graffiti. But in lower Manhattan, Joey and the Ramones were reclaiming rock ‘n’ roll and inspiring thousands of kids to pick up guitars, publish fanzines, design their own clothes or just simply do their own thing.
