Mr. Met shows the MTA Chairman how to dress for today’s game

Here’s Mr. Met and MTA Chairman Jay Walder encouraging you to take the subway to the game.  Via @NYCTSubwayScoop

I’m heading out there now…I’m sure I’ll post “stuff” as I see it.  Everyone enjoy Randy’s Tailgate…Randy I’m just stealing a post from you:

If you’re already planning to attend the Mets home opener on April 8th, why not join The Apple and help us ring in the new season and celebrate our 1 year anniversary.  From 12 – 3PM The Apple will have it’s AMAZING TAILGATING SETUP (i.e. a folding table and portable grill) set up in the Citi Field parking lot.

Entertainment will be provided by a small boombox playing whatever CD I grab that morning.  There will be a limited supply of burgers, hot dogs and adult beverages but if you wanna bring your own meat our executive chef (i.e. me in Mets apron) will be happy to cook it up for ya.

Click over to our facebook events page for more info and map to help you find us.  We’ll also have a big-ass banner courtesy of buildasign.com so we should be somewhat easy to spot. I hope to see some of you there.

I won’t be there – I somehow convinced Mrs. Mets Police to come to the game, so the entire family is having a family outing.  I’m going to be in Daddy mode today (I’ll let Media Goon get all stressed about things) and I’ll be in full Mets Police mode tomorrow night with Junior.

Speaking of which – plenty of bargains available via Mets Police Tickets and our awesome ticket partner TiqIq.  When I took a look last night, $3 seats were available for Saturday night – and that’s not even reflected on this graph so keep checking back for bargains.

  1. Great site! Hope you can answer my question, b/c the info isn’t in the News or on mets.com today…I’m bringing my kids to Opening Day later, and want to know what time to be in the stadium to make sure we see all of the various festivities. Do you know when things will get going (i.e., the ceremonies, not the game, which I know starts at 4). Many thanks!
