35,157 at the Mets game Sunday

The paid crowd was 35,157 on Sunday.

Last year for Home Game 3 (vs. Florida) the Mets drew 25,982 on a Thursday.  The first Sunday crowd (against Washington) was 33,672 – so one could argue that ticket sales are gangbusters.

The first Monday night game didn’t happen until April 19th when 27,940 showed up at Citi.

  1. It seemed like a late-arriving crowd, but the Promenade Infield seemed to fill in pretty well. For a chilly Sunday against the Nationals, it wasn’t a bad crowd.

  2. I was there.

There was no way that many people were there. It appeared to me that there were about half as many people as were at the Friday game (which I also attended)
