Inside the Mets bunker

First, I continue to express myself by using images from popular culture. Something happened during those games Saturday and I lost my ability to express myself (as limited as that ability was, let’s face it – this blog is no Faith and Fear. Maybe I should just link to whatever Greg writes today),

Anyway this is me, trying not to be a WFAN caller, but the logic of the situation is getting to me, and I cant stop running the numbers in my head.

Now to the bunker.

What do you suppose is going on in Flushing today?

Hey how are ticket sales?

Are people still making fun of us?

Are revenues up?

Anyone want to buy minority interest?

They say it gets worse before it gets better. This seems to be that “worse” part they talk about.

I’m already glad there’s not a game tonight so I can do something else. I’m already not dropping everything to use a free ticket tomorrow.

I’m trying to hold on, and this is after a win. Managing like it’s Game 7 in April? That’s some scary schtuff right there.

How’s your mood today? Anyone got a good Firefly reference I can work in?

  1. Let’s let the Mets worry about whether they’re selling tickets – it can be frustrating enough to watch the team struggle on the field, so why add to the aggravation?

  2. Rufus T. Firefly?

“How much would it cost, to buy back my introduction (to this team)?”

“I wouldn’t join a club, that would have me as a member.”

“Why don’t you (we) drill a hole in your (our) head(s), and let the sap run out?”
