Houston, hello! – Mets Blog – ESPN New York

Mark Simon continues his great Thursday series on ESPN NY…this time focusing on Houston (it was scheduled for today because the Mets were supposed to be in Houston pre-rainout)…so beyond the NLCS there are some other coolnessess including learning that Bruce Boisclair has the best Mets average in Houston.

A very good read while we all kill time waiting for the Lukas’ piece on black uniforms.

The greatest offensive performance in Mets history came on August 30, 1999 in Houston, when Edgardo Alfonzo went 6-for-6 with three home runs and five RBI in a 17-1 rout of the Astros.

  1. I had just bought a house and I was painting my daughter’s room while listening to Murph calling the play-by-play from Houston.

  2. Don’t hold your breath on the ESPN column … Lukas’ pieces get bumped a day or two from time to time.
