Yankee Stadium Guide for Mets fans

I haven’t been to the Stadium yet this year because it costs $35 to park! That’s right, $35!

Lookup the Gateway Shopping Center nearby which seems to be where the Yankeescenti are parking these days.

I haven’t used that lot myself so be sure tom do your homework and make sure that lot doesn’t close before the game ends

I find Fake New Yankee Stadium to be one of the least enjoyable stadiums in the majors. Sure if you are three rows behind the dugout and can afford $10 or more beers you can squint your eyes and pretend it is where Reggie played…but the overall concrete motif makes me feel like I am at a subway station in Coney Island.

Whatever magic the old place had is gone, replaced by this thing. Even Yankees fans will admit that Citi Field is better and that speaks volumes.

Foodwise, I suggest just getting a Johnny Rockets shake. It will fill you and you’ll have enough money left to pay your rent.

For a Yankees fan perspective and tips check out my favorite Yankees blog, the very well done Stadium Insider who can guide you further.

  1. There are some halfway decent concessions in that place, and there’s a (or was) a ‘secret’ beer stand with almost no line unless they’ve finally caught on. The beer selection is crap for the most part, but if you want one or two, go for the bigger sized ones. more oz/$.

Not a subway station to me, more of a mall. The feel of Yankee Stadium is that of going to a time share presentation and the ‘free gift’ is a baseball game.
