Mets statement about Coffee the dog

A leftover from yesterday (sometimes I need to not blog and do things like talk to my family).  Not to distract from FredGate but Gothamist says…

The Mets have released a statement regarding Coffee, saying, “We have addressed the matter with the NYPD and the Parks Department. As the Mets plaza is an open public space on parkland, the Mets cannot control access.”

  1. First time I noticed Coffee, I thought she looked amusing. (I’ve never given money nor have taken a picture). But, game after game and you notice the panhandling pattern that this dog is being forced into. I’m happy this is being exposed. I’ll be going to Friday’s game and will be curious to see if whether Coffee is out there. But hopefully she is taken away from her owners if they can be found.

  2. So let me get this right.
We have a mediocre team busting their collective asses to play .500 ball.
Our owner is broke, cutting expenses and payroll, and calling out players.
    Our stadium is obstructed.
Now we have a panhandling dog.
    Awesome.
